Sustainability

Virtually all materials used are landfill destined. Local op shops collect all their damaged and excess clothing they cant sell. Along with people in the Waiheke community that drop off unwanted  clothing and fabric stashes.

To date (March 2024) I have kept at least 2 tons of textile waste from the landfill.

I try to use as much of my own scraps as possible- have stuffed many cushions and donated to other community groups ( the Recreators and fellow Upcyclers)

Mostly I am a one person business, but when I do hire someone to help with sewing and cutting, they are paid a living wage.

I also do some part time teaching helping others to sew, mend and create with recycled materials. And will always provide the upcycled materials for these classes.
